I'm so glad that there are alternatives. We would like to have Drupal 7 Media, but don't want to pay for Drupal 7 quite yet. I really enjoyed watching Aaron Winborn's video production with him discussing the future-proof approaches of creating and using media in Drupal 6. Thanks for the tips!
