I wanted some of my navigational elements in the primary links ('Embed' and 'Share') to display the nodes not as full pages but as floating boxes under the links. So I created two blocks which load the nodes, inserted them in an absolutely positioned page region named 'Floating', and wrote some javascript to handle the display and positioning of the blocks.
