Custom CCK fields

CCK is the future for site designers, but how do we make fields do what we want them to? I mean, its no good to have an input field without validation and formatting options, is it? Forthurmore, how does this stuff 'magically' show up in Views?

Never fear, its all there, and we can go through it all step by step.

The current lesson plan is:

    * Detail a Content Construction Kit field.
* Build a CCK money field module (for various currencies). Maybe even a form that shows when the user is viewing the node, and lets the user choose a currency.
* Add Google Video functionality to a YouTube CCK field to demonstrate extensibility.

Module Mashups!

This lesson is on Contrib Modules, but as always, if you have any suggestions, please post to the Drupal Dojo Lesson Ideas wiki

Join us in #drupal-dojo on IRC, and on Skype. You can also see the VNC screensharing provided by Webavant's VNC Viewer.

Two other points to note:

    * Greggles will be stepping up to lead us in a CVS usage session. Awesome! He will be leading Lesson #5 on Sunday the 27th. [edit: see and edit the lesson plan wiki]
* SamTressler has offered to set up a session at Drupal Camp NYC where the Dojo lesson will be projected and people can take part; an exciting real/virtual world crossover!
